What call is performed for DAgent AD OU Lookup?

I need a solution

2 to 3% of our managed computers do not report Active Directory OU under Network Configuration. Its a grouping of Windows 7 and 10 workstations, they are in the domain, have been in the field or freshly rebuilt, etc.

So my question is, what does the DAgent use to gather this information? A COM call / LDAP call? If so, what account is it using to get that information?

Boot disk drivers – HP Elitebook G4 with NIC I219-LM

I need a solution

Hello Comunity,

Which drivers would I need to inject/add to the winPE5.1\ISO (Boot Disk Creator) to be able to boot an HP Elitebook G4 with NIC I219-LM ?

Right now when I use the USB to boot the laptop the ghost automatic script is unable to load the drivers it keeps saying restarting DHCP client (Check attached picture)

Your help is much appreciated.

What version of sql would you use now

I need a solution

It's 2018 now,  I am curious as to those that have installed MSSQL 2008r2 and wished they went to MSSQL2014.  What do you think ? 2008 or 2014?  We are going to install Ghost Solution Suite 3.2 on a virtual machine.  The amount of clients we will have is 20000 devices.  We have 50 buildings all connected via WAN connections.  Each building will have a server to deploy the images at.    Any thoughts, concerns, tips, helpful ideas would be appreciated.

Multicast restore freezes then resume

I need a solution

Hi,

i am using ghostcast server 11.5.1.2266 on a windows 2012 server to image and restore different types of computers.

The problem is that sometimes, the restore freezes for few minutes then resumes. after some minutes it ll freeze again for few minutes then continue, and so on. The restore always works in the end, but instead of taking 20 minutes, then it can take more than one hour.

i read that it could be related to IGMP, i enabled IGMP on my switch i still have the same behavior.

How can i fix this?

Format machine using run script feature of Ghost Solution Suite

Hello Team,

Please help me with the issue I am suffering from.

Please find below issue summery just for your reference(Treat this as an example).

I am having 2 endpoint machine namely System A and System B ,with Operating system as windows 8 and windows 10.

I created Capture Image job and removed the SID of machine by checking Sysperp option. Applied the same job on machine B with OS as windows 10 and obtained an ghost image file, which is ready to get apply on machine A.

Now Have created new job for distribution of an Obtained ISO image in order to deploy it on end machine named as A with win 8 as OS.  

Now the Query is, Is it possible to format the end machine that is machine A, while deploying the Obtained image from step one.

Please let me know if it is possible, how we are going to achieve it.

I already tried with multiple run scripts and did not reached the solution for the issue.

Please provide me the proper way to achive this.

How to upgrade from 3.1 to 3.2

Hello

I'm currently trying to upgrade our Ghost Solution Server from version 3.1 MP3 to 3.2 RU4. I downloaded the installation file from fileconnect, but after extracting and running the setup.exe it only gives me the option to do a clean installation without any option to upgrade.

So i had a look into the Symantec Ghost Solution Suite 3.2 Installation and Upgrade guide. It only gives explanation for a silent install, which doesn't work at the moment. When I open a command prompt described on page 62 and enter axinstall.exe -i, it only opens the installation gui instead of creating a silent.ini which is needed for further process. Maybe the silent.ini will be created at another location than the setup folder?

Any idea?

Problem imaging after resintalling PXE Manager

I need a solution

We recently upgraded from 3.1 mp6 to 3.2 RU4 

Everything seemed to be working until we went to launch PXE Manager to change the WINPE

We got an error message saying it coudlnt connect to PXE Manager - tried all suggestions (edit pxe.ini tried removeding lock lines , changing DSKey) 

In the end we had to unsintall and reinstall PXE Manager. This is now working and we built a new WINPE 

Problem is now when we trying imaging the PC boots into WINPE but then will not connect to the image session - Ghost64.exe doesnt launch and the PC reboots. 

In the console it says failed - "unable to locate executable file for image tool symantec ghost"

ive reinstalled the the 3.2 RU4 standard tools to the correct location, rebuilt WinPE (3 seperate ones) checked the PXE.ini , PXEManager.ini and RPC.ini

Im at a loss now and not sure what to try next - any advice would be much appreciated

Custom Inventory or Dashboards using GSS?

I need a solution

Hello,

We're using GSS 3.2 and we would like to know some things:

- How to define when Symantec DAgent collect and send inventory information to server

- If is it possible to collect custom information (executing an script, reading the registry, etc.)

Our idea is to create some dashboard (probably querying eXpress DB) with useful information about our desktop environments.
