Cannot start webdite

I need a solution

Hello,

I am trying to trial the SW with hopes of buying for my company.

I have had lots of issues trying to install. Firstly, I would install the SQL/IIS etc, but when installing the management server, it would not install the website in IIS. I have now been able to get it to install, but now I cannot start the website in IIS. I get "Value does not fall within the expected range"

I have high hopes for this, but the installation has been terrible. Please can anyone advise how to resolve this issue so I can begin testing?

DLP Product Migration

I need a solution

Hi,

I am working on a RFP and customer is currently using a different DLP solution. At this moment, they want to migrate to Symantec DLP solution. One of their major requirement is to migrate the incident data with evidence and polices from the current DLP system to the new Symantec DLP system.

I beleive it is not possible automatically. Need your confirmation to communicate the client.

Thanks in advance.

Remote Indexing the Excel using IDM

I need a solution

Hello Everyone,

Can we remotely specify the share path of file present the Local Lan accessible to DLP server to index the file using EDM technique.

The same feature we have in the IDM for remote SMB share.

As the customer aren’t ready to share the data, can we map the file using their share path to index the excel file and later we can schedule the same.

Any response would be appreciated.

Regards,

Juilee

Change Subkey Default

I need a solution

Hi,

Having a list of subkeys, it is possible to change the default encryption subkey and / or the default signing subkey in a keypair ..?

I have a subkey that appears only with the icon of a public key and also appears as the default (I do not understand how they created it).

I know I can revoke it and then delete it if necessary, but I noticed that I did not see how to change the subkey by default and if someone has an idea of how a subkey was created as only public would be useful to know, in addition to understanding what it would serve

Thank you

Disabled endpoints… but they don’t look disabled?

I need a solution

SEPM has four client machines listed as disabled on the home page.  I've gotten email notications about them and noticed that.  When I checked then, the machine and SEP look fine.  Only one of these four is within range for me to check/accessible but it's in use right now.

I can't tell from SEPM what's disabled about them.  What does it mean when the home page lists them as disabled?

And is there any way from SEPM to re-eneable them?

Switching views in SEPM, I see two (both Windows) have for SONAR Status, "Component is Malfunctioning."  The other two are Macs and don't have that installed.

Simply reinstalling sounds easiest, except the machines aren't easily available.

GE powers its culture of curiosity with the Microsoft Cloud

Logo for GE.

Today’s post was written by James Fowler, chief information officer at GE.

Profile picture of James Fowler, chief information officer at GE.GE is 125 years old this year. And today, we’re transforming from an industrial company to a digital industrial company, using software and sensors to make our machines connected, responsive, and predictive.

Despite our evolution through the years, our culture has remained the same since Thomas Edison founded the company in 1892. It’s a culture of curiosity, where people ask tough questions and work relentlessly to solve difficult problems. Our mission is nothing short of building, moving, powering, and curing the world, which is a pretty inspiring purpose.

My job as CIO is to give our 300,000 employees the technology to fulfill this ambitious mission—from the factory floors to our design engineering experts. Scientific and technological breakthroughs occasionally come through individual genius, like Edison; but more often, they come through the hard work and dedication of a community of people. We use Microsoft Office 365 to make community collaboration easier.

Collaboration is not new, but what is new is how quickly teams spin up and down and how many different workstyles we need to accommodate. We have teams that span different departments, businesses, and generations—people who come together for a period of days or weeks to solve specific problems. Using tools like Microsoft Teams, people are beginning to collaborate in real time throughout the day, working together in a personalized and engaging way, with all the information and tools they need at their fingertips.

When you’re as big and broad as GE, you run into internal cultural, generational, and personality differences. With Office 365, we have what amounts to a common language across 300,000 people working in 170 countries.

These tools also satisfy the variety of workstyles that our employees prefer. Some generations dislike sending emails and attending face-to-face meetings. They want to self-form in virtual teams and use social media, instant messaging, and other real-time tools. Using the Microsoft Cloud, employees have the freedom to work how they want to, with tools that are tightly connected.

When you’re sharing intellectual property across so many people and locations, security matters. We’re rolling out the Windows 10 operating system to help us manage security centrally and with great granularity. And we appreciate how Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus keeps all our productivity applications at the latest security updates and gives employees the latest functionality. Because employees are eager to have the latest Office versions, they’re more likely to upgrade regularly, which keeps their applications up-to-date from a security perspective.

In addition to enabling collaboration across a wildly diverse workforce, I am tasked with driving productivity across GE. This includes helping engineers share designs across the business, identifying procurement redundancies, and doing predictive maintenance on industrial machines, engines, and other products. These productivity savings add up, and we find them more easily now through a combination of better data analysis and better communication.

Technology is evolving at a blistering pace, and part of my job is to position the company for the future of work. We’re excited about the convergence of artificial intelligence and virtual reality in Microsoft technology and how that will enable future work at GE.

What call is performed for DAgent AD OU Lookup?

I need a solution

2 to 3% of our managed computers do not report Active Directory OU under Network Configuration. Its a grouping of Windows 7 and 10 workstations, they are in the domain, have been in the field or freshly rebuilt, etc.

So my question is, what does the DAgent use to gather this information? A COM call / LDAP call? If so, what account is it using to get that information?

IPS blocking Point-of-Sale transactions

I need a solution

We have an issue using SEP 14 mp2 with point-of-sale software. For banking transactions to be processed through a credit card machine, IPS has to be disabled. When it is enabled, under the logs the only thing I can see is a sort of hardware address that is allowed to go through from NTP.

Anyone come across this issue? I definitely dont want to disable IPS for obvious reasons but what can I do to get the point-of-sale software to process
the transaction through the workstation connected to the credit card swiping device?
